Hononga Marautanga — Curriculum Alignment
Curriculum alignment: NCEA Level 1 Digital Technologies / Technological Practice requires students to undertake development to make a conceptual design for an outcome. This unit strengthens brief development, stakeholder thinking, conceptual modelling, and evaluation against authentic constraints.
Assessment pathway: Students need explicit checkpoints for defining the issue, testing ideas against sustainability criteria, and justifying why one concept should move forward.

Integrate tikanga Māori principles (kaitiakitanga, manaakitanga, taonga preservation) into binding engineering specifications.
Lesson 5: Concept Generation
Execute rapid divergent ideation to generate 4 distinctly different conceptual design directions with functional annotations.
