The 5-Part Scientific Investigation Defence Structure (5 min)
1. Question & Hypothesis (1 min)
State your biological question (Lesson 1) and your directional hypothesis with biological rationale (Lesson 2).
2. Method & Controls (1 min)
Outline your IV levels, DV measurement, controlled variables (Lesson 3), and 3+ repeat trials (Lesson 4).
3. Graph & Conclusion (1 min)
Present your graph (Lesson 6) and state your quantified conclusion with data points and % change (Lesson 7).
4. Biological Science (1 min)
Explain the underlying cellular/biochemical mechanisms that produced your observed trend (Lesson 8).
5. Reliability & Validity (1 min)
Defend your trial data reliability, discuss controlled variable validity, and propose 2 method improvements (Lesson 9).
