Teacher Planning Snapshot
- Entry: use the whole-class census in Lesson 1 and a supplied dataset; provide question stems and partially completed tables.
- On-level: pairs collect a manageable dataset and independently justify the display and conclusion.
- Extension: compare groups or a local dataset with a published source, then critique sampling and the strength of any claim.
- Inclusion: offer oral conclusions, digital graphing, role-based group work, predictable PPDAC checklists, and plain-language vocabulary cards.
- Mātauranga Māori and data care: use tikanga and kaitiakitanga when information represents people or whenua. Avoid sensitive questions, collect only what is needed, anonymise respondents, and agree who may see the findings. Seek local guidance before using iwi, hapū, or māramataka knowledge as an investigation context.
