Purpose before template
Mihimihi can greet, acknowledge people and place, and share selected factual information. It is not a universal script and it is not assigned by ethnicity. Ask mana whenua or an approved local te reo Māori lead which wording and context are appropriate before learners use this plan.
A learner may keep the plan private, omit any detail, or use a fictional model. Mihimihi does not require anyone to invent or borrow iwi, hapū, waka, maunga, or awa relationships.
