Curriculum connections under re-audit
This unit does not currently publish verified Te Mātaiaho statement connections. An earlier set of connections was reviewed against what the lessons actually teach and did not meet our standard — statements must be quoted verbatim from the curriculum and demonstrably taught in a named lesson — so it has been removed rather than left in place.
The unit itself remains fully teachable: it is a Years 4–6 programme in which ākonga observe and test the health of a local awa, learn kaitiakitanga in practice, and communicate their evidence to a real audience. See the unit overview for learning goals, weekly structure, and resources.
When re-audited connections are published, they will appear on this page, each quoted verbatim with the lesson where it is taught.
