One sentence. If it takes you three, the synthesis is not finished yet — and finishing it is exactly what today is for.
📖 Activity 1: Build the Causal Chain, Then Stress-Test It
Connect the whole unit (13 min). On one page, draw the chain: natural features → land values → transport → land use → who lives where → what is being built now. Label every arrow with the process it carries. An unlabelled arrow is a gap you have not noticed.
Break someone else's (12 min). Swap pages. On your partner's chain find one arrow that does not hold and one process they left out entirely. Mark both and hand it back. Then repair your own.
📝 Activity 2: Level 2 Geography Portfolio Task & Merit/Excellence Scaffolding (20 mins)
Portfolio Capstone. Submit: (1) your complete causal chain, revised after the swap; (2) a portfolio contents page confirming all nine sections are present; (3) a three-minute spoken analysis of one Auckland spatial pattern covering pattern, process and evidence — closing with one thing likely to change it over the next twenty years.
