Built from my own timetable: eight weeks, Mon 3 August – Fri 25 September 2026. Classes, rooms,
staff briefings and the Wednesday working bee are prefilled; lesson topics, teacher initials and
codes are mine to complete.
Two things to raise with the Practicum Office, before the log is anything else.
My placement dates are not the handbook's. The handbook (§2.3) sets Practicum 2 as
27 July – 11 September (7 weeks). My actual placement runs 3 August – 25 September
(8 weeks). Every date below follows my real timetable, not the handbook.
Week 2 (10–14 August) was a full week of illness. Handbook §6.1 requires the
practicum leave form, and notification of the school coordinator and all associate teachers —
and states plainly that "if you are absent from practicum for a number of days, even when fully
justified by evidence, you may be required to do an additional practicum at a later
time." Eight scheduled weeks minus one lost week leaves seven attended, which matches the
handbook's requirement — but that is for the Practicum Office to confirm, not for me to assume.
This is signed weekly, not at the end. The handbook tells associate teachers that
"the pre-service teacher will be approaching you to have this document signed weekly", and that the
visiting professional supervisor "will be expecting to see it". It is also a required item in the
Practicum File.
What still needs my hand. The timetable gives class, room and period. It cannot give the
lesson topic, the teacher initials, or the O/T/P/RC/AT code — those are the record
of what actually happened, and I fill them in as I go. The Other school involvement column is
prefilled with the standing commitments from my timetable; add department meetings, PD, parent evenings and
duty as they occur, since that column is the only evidence for "Participating fully in school
life". Work saves in this browser as you type.
Two Wednesday cells list two classes in one period — Tahi (all eight weeks:
CSC2/3 | C10 and 10SST | D12) and Rima (weeks 2, 3, 5–8: CSC1 | C10 and
10SST | D12). That is how they appear in my timetable, so both are shown rather than one being
guessed at. Resolve them before this is signed: if Wednesday runs a different bell schedule or a rotation,
the professional supervisor needs to know, because the handbook asks me to send them
"details of the timetable if the school is not on a Monday–Friday timetable".

Code column. The handbook prints the code column as "O? T? P? RC? AT?" but
never defines it anywhere in its forty pages. Confirm the meanings with the EDPRAC 612 lecturer or the
main associate teacher and record them here, so the log is readable by the professional supervisor:
Change of load, 27 August. From Thursday 27 August the placement is Social Studies
only. Computer Science slots (CSC1, CSC2/3) from week 5 onward are shown as ceased rather than
deleted, so weeks 1–4 remain an honest record of what was taught. The two Year 9 and one Year 10
Social Studies classes are the current load; Friday 28 August was a staff-only day (T.O.D.).
